Elderflower Drinks

So many drinks both non-alcoholic and alcoholic can be made with elderflower. There’s elderflower lacquer and elderflower syrup or cordial. So, what’s the difference?

Elderflower Syrup

According to Ask the Chef:

“The term elderflower cordial and elderflower syrup are interchangeable and are typically used to describe the same thing: a sweetened elderflower extract.” Elderflower syrup and elderflower cordial are made with elderflowers infused in a simple syrup with fresh lemon zest.

Elderflower Recipe

Ever since Megan and Harry served elderflower cocktails at their royal wedding, the demand for elderflower recipes have exploded!

Cordial Elderflower

Norm’s Farm says that “The term elderflower cordial and elderflower syrup are interchangeable and are typically used to describe the same thing: a sweetened elderflower extract.”

To me, the cordial elderflower is what I imagine smelling a bouquet of flowers in heaven.

Red Ruby Grapefruit Cocktail

I love red ruby grapefruit juice. And, I love to use it in cocktails. In fact. I’ve created many alcoholic cocktails using ruby red or red ruby.
