This post is a paid partnership with True Aussie Beef & Lamb. Believe me, I don’t partner with any brand unless I truly believe in and support their product(s) and the kind of company it is. One that shares similar values as I. Most importantly, I only work for food companies whose products I would feed my family and friends! All these opinions and the creation of this recipe are credited to me. Check out more of my Aussie #grassfed beef recipes  and Aussie pasture-raised lamb recipes!

Let’s Throw a Party!

I’m always up for throwing a party! My parties don’t have to be big, like in the sense of lots of people. Actually, I truly prefer smaller parties where everyone can have genuine warm conversation, where most everyone knows each other or they’re meeting new friends, and where we all can sit down at one table and break bread. Now, that’s my kinda party. And, that’s precisely what this Girls’ Glitz Party is! A time for beautiful souls to come together, and an added bonus is that it is the ‘holiday’ season (but, it certainly doesn’t have to be!)! We girls love an occasion to get all gussied up, put on our sparkly frocks and know that for a few hours our souls will be immeasurably nourished with great food, conversation and libations.

Speaking of Food

Food is the central part of any gathering in my home. Whether it’s a party, friends stopping in, Sunday dinner, a weeknight get together of family, whatever, it all rotates around healthy easy-to-prepare food. My goal is not to be chained to the kitchen while everyone else is having fun. Plus, I want to immerse everyone there IN the kitchen with me as easy dishes are being prepared! So, for this party, here’s what was on our menu:

Now, a girls’ party can’t be a real party without a trendy and sparkly shiny ‘bar’ set up! And, for this gathering we featured our ‘signature’ bubbly cocktail. It was super simple to make. Fill a tall glass, make it the crystal kind, half way with cranberry juice, add a splash of orange juice, some zested ginger and top off the glass with prosecco! Throw in some frozen fresh cranberries as ‘ice cubes’. Or make fun ice cubes with orange juice, some fresh berries, freeze then pop out and use.

Only the Best for My Girls

When you know that your girls are health conscious and really care about what they eat, then you know that only the best will do for them. And, that means True Aussie #grassfed beef and pasture-raised lamb.

Lamb is considered a kind of red meat, and the meat of lamb means that this meat is produced when the sheep is under a year old. Lamb is a protein and nutrient rich food with many vitamins and essential minerals. Lamb’s very tender and has a mild taste.

While lamb’s low in fat content, the fat of lamb comes primarily from equal parts of saturated and monunsaturated fat, which is the main fatty acid in olive oil. Since lamb has a higher omega-3 content than most meats, it’s extra good for you. But, there’s one caveat, make sure your lamb is pasture-raised, like True Aussie lamb is, and you’ll be getting even better omega-3 nutrients.

Here’s something really interesting about lamb that the website Healthline points out:

  • Like other types of meat, lamb is primarily composed of protein.
  • The protein content of lean, cooked lamb is usually 25-26% (1).
  • Lamb meat is a high-quality protein source, containing all of the essential amino acids needed for the body’s growth and maintenance.
  • For this reason, eating lamb, or other types of meat, may be especially beneficial for bodybuilders, recovering athletes, and post-surgical patients.
  • Simply put, eating meat promotes optimal nutrition whenever muscle tissue needs to be built up or repaired.

KISS This Party

When entertaining, keep it sassy simple or KISS! As the host, you want to be part of the gala whatever the size. So here are some tips:

Take shortcuts when making your sides. For instance, buying the bagged salad mixes then adding some extras like nuts, crumbled cheeses, maybe another type of easily chopped green. And, by all means, use the salad dressing that comes with the mix. I love those larger bags from Costco. Maybe some leftovers for munching on the next day!

Use your outdoors to decorate as much as you can. It’s free! Here’re some ideas!

More simple Boho party ideas from my coffers.

Make your parties with your good friends interactive. That means they want to help as you are doing clean up! We continue to keep our wine glasses topped off as we’re scraping off plates, rinsing and putting in the dishwasher. Some of our most lively spirited and hard-core laughing happens as we collective do kitchen clean up.

Try to have one or two of your gals come early to give you some extra hands. Hey, they love chipping in and can take things like grilling especially if they’re really good at it. Or putting someone in charge of uncorking wine bottles, setting up the bar, etc. Again, it’s the involvement that’s making the part and just being together.

Cook meats like Aussie #grassfed beef and pasture-raised lamb. They’re fail safe, especially if you’re throwing them on the grill. I mean those lamb chops, which are inevitably a delicious hit, cook in about 5 minutes. And, the beef cooks up to 30% faster because it’s grassfed, and depending upon your finished temperature, it’s a no brainer. That’s what food should be unfussy, uncomplicated and unassuming, yet when it hits your palate, it’s like WOWZEEEEEEEEEEEE! Only an Iron Chef or Master Chef could have pulled this off!
